The ability to observe and cope with a variety emotions is important in #eatingdisorderrecovery and for all human beings; some (most?) people struggle to let the vulnerability of “not okay” show, making it harder to reach out for help.
Unfortunately, avoiding emotions only adds fuel to the fire.
This #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth, let’s normalize showing up for ourselves and others and feeling how we feel. Normalize conversations that include:
“How are you feeling?
“I’m not ok.”
“I need help.”
“I am here for you.”
